Stuck inside cardio workout!

I'm stuck inside today. Self imposed. I need a break from the iron...yesterdays back and bicep workout was less then desirable, which for me suggests over-training.  Looking back at my log, I realized I had hit the weights heavy for 3 days straight.  Time to rest these muscles and work the heart.

So I'll kick up the cardio today. If you've got a treadmill, join in...do it once and you've got about  minutes. If you're needing an extra push, cycle through it twice. Don't forget a 5min warm up and 5min cool down.

Workout: The Pyramid

Set 1: steady pace 1 minute each @ 4, 5 and 6 percent incline
2-3 minutes recovery @ flat jog

Set 2: steady pace 1 minute each @ 5, 6 and 7 percent incline
2-3 minutes recovery @ flat jog

Set 3: steady pace 1 minute each @ 6, 7 and 8 percent incline
2-3 minutes recovery @ flat jog

Set 4: steady pace 1 minute each @ 7, 6 and 5 percent incline
2-3 minutes recovery @ flat jog

Set 5: steady pace 1 minute each @ 6, 5 and 4 percent incline
2-3 minutes recovery @ flat jog

Whether you do my workout or one of your own, simply moving at your own pace and doing some form of exercise today is my wish for all the Phit gals out there.  It's only 11am and I saw my mommy bestie Leanne on her way to swim while her son is at preschool, got a text from another mommy heading out for a 10mile run on this beautiful winter day. Inspiring..... my heart is smiling!

Live, Laugh, Sweat.

  3. whohoo, another treadmill workout! Will do this one tonight. My straight 4k run last night was horrid - I am at the point where I can't just run - too boring.

    This will be perfect.

    Thanks you!

  4. Cheryl...
    I have a question...
I am running on a track doing 3 min jog/ 1 min walk right now.
What do you recommend for stretching before and after my "wog"?
