3 weeks out -progress pics

22 days today I'll be at the venue, potentially even finished pre-judging.  My parents bought their tickets row 25 of 28, it's selling out FAST!

This is quickly becoming a reality and one I'm actually getting excited about. The last year has been consistent, hard work.  No magic pills, no shortcuts....just sweat...and lots of lactic acid!

I heard a quote the other day that I want to share...

"You can't out-train a poor diet"

This is so true. I see many people hitting the gym hard every day, lifting heavy weights, drenched in sweat from high intensity cardio..only to remain the same weight, year after year.

Common sense would mean that working out is not the entire solution? The only other variable (besides some genetics etc..) would be the diet.....

I like to think of food as a FUEL for my body. What I put into my body will affect what my body puts out. The worst day of the week for me is the day after my "cheat meal".  I'm sluggish and cranky and bloated. The best days are those where I'm "fueling" small meals every 2-3 hours, packed with protein and green veggies and some carbs.  A favorite for me this week was a can of tuna, 4 celery chopped up and a 1/3rd cup no fat cottage cheese with some pepper.  YUMMMMM

Journal your food for a few days and see how you are feeling, you'll be amazed at what you're actually eating...and work towards making better choices at every meal.  Protein at every meal...plain and simple. Ask me questions via email if you need thoughts on where your downfalls may be...

Here's my progress pic, not much changed besides a bit leaner in the abs, some separation in the upper abs and quads coming out.  My calories have gone down to about 1590 from 1650, the only major change is removal of peanut butter and rice cakes but adding in extra lean ground beef or salmon.

Hypothermic Half Marathon this weekend, I'm still on the fence, depends on the windchill, I have limits as to how frozen I allow myself to be....me, the treadmill and a good movie may have a date instead.

Stay Phit, Stay Warm this weekend!
